|New Verses Used|

Purchasing a new kiln has many advantages, including the security of having a warranty. It's important, however, to read the warranty carefully to see exactly what is covered and how repairs are done. Having a reputable manufacturer or distributor to explain how to use the kiln and do any repair work is very important and should be considered when you compare prices. Would you purchase a new car if the person selling it to you did not show you how to use it or was not available for any possible service later?
Used kilns may seem like a less expensive alternative, but it's important to weigh all the pluses and minuses, including whether or not you can trust the person you're buying from. Ask about training on use and where to get service later. Contact the manufacturer to be certain you can get a copy of the manual if the person you are buying from does not have the original.
