Doc Holliday Molds has announced plans to close its mold-making operations before the end of this year. The company will continue to take and fill orders through the fall; a final deadline for ordering has not yet been announced.

According to the announcement, the decision was made because the company has received an offer for its building in Lexington, Ky., and “we think it is in our best interest to accept. Of course the uncertain times we live in economically play a part in even listening to such an offer. Like most in the industry, we worry about the future, wishing for better days ahead. We certainly hope for better days for all our customers and ceramic friends in coming to this difficult decision.”

The company does plan to continue, and even expand, the Doc Holliday paint line by moving to a smaller location at the end of the year.
